Our workshop is engaged in repairs, construction and sale of musical instruments, since 1987. Nikolaos Brass is the founder.
In 1994 Nikolaos Brass was honored with the diploma of the Italian School of Cremona for participation and distinction in the international competition
'' Antonio Stradivari '' for the construction and sound of the violin and viola which ranked second (first greek luthier receiving such distinction).
During that time he begins the construction of the first ancient greek instruments researching in depth writings of ancient poets and writers and musical instruments depicted on amphorae, marble relief plaques, etc. cooperating with distinguished archaeologists and musicologists.
In the field of repairs Nikolaos Brass has repaired and preserved historic violins of major manufacturers (Italians, French, Germans, etc. ) such as: Jacob Stainer, Giuseppe Guarneri, Nicola Gagliano, Antonio Rocca, Giovanni Battista Guadagnini, Francesco Gobetti, etc. and the repair and maintenance of the famous violin '' Falmouth '' of Antonio Stradivarius, one of the most important and successful repairs in Greece, which was presented as a task by the Acropolis Museum in the Panhellenic Association of Conservators of Antiquities.
Since then, our workshop has become a renowned workshop of musical instruments with international recognition as our instruments are played by world famous artists and bands (Leonidas Kavakos, Ross Daly, Vamvakaris, the bands Daemonia Nymphe, Septic Flesh, Chaostar, etc.). Also our collections have adorned several organizations, universities, museums and books (The University of Florence,The University of Macedonia, The Hellenic Ministry of Culture, The Berlin Musical Instrument Museum, Royal Museums of Art and History in Brussels).
